This is a highly personalized and fully hands-on handbuilding ceramics class designed to function as your personal art studio over eight weeks. Each session will focus on building a new piece, sharing ideas, and practicing essential techniques in a supportive and creative environment.
Throughout the course, you will explore all major handbuilding methods while developing your own creative voice. The goal is for you to feel confident identifying, practicing, and combining techniques by the end of the eight weeks, allowing you to continue your own ceramic practice beyond the class.
Ceramics is a powerful form of artistic expression and a complete discipline in its own right. In this class, you will work closely with clay as a material—learning how to shape it, refine it, and use it to bring your creative ideas to life. Alongside hands-on making, we will cover the technical aspects of ceramics, including firing and glazing.
By the end of the course, you will have created from functional objects, sculptural pieces, to jewelry. Students will ideally complete 7 or more pieces over the duration of the class.
